Its aggressive solvency makes it un ideal remover. Its solvency makes it an effective carrier and extraction solvent in chemical processing applications. It has no flash point under normal use conditions and can be used to reduce the flammability of other substances, decreasing the chance of in plant fire or explosion. It does not contribute significantly to atmospheric pollution through the formation of smog, to the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer, or to global warming.
